The Problem

Customers increasingly rely on stored payment credentials for subscriptions, online services, and recurring transactions.

However, most financial platforms provide limited visibility into where cards are stored and how they are being used.

This creates challenges including:

  • difficulty managing subscriptions

  • outdated payment credentials across services

  • limited control over recurring payments

Customers lacked a centralized way to understand and manage their stored payment relationships.

My Role

I led the design vision for a centralized Card on File Hub that would allow customers to manage stored payment credentials across their digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities included:

  • defining the experience strategy for the hub

  • aligning product and engineering teams around platform direction

  • guiding concept development and design exploration

  • identifying integration points across internal systems

The Strategy

Rather than treating stored cards as isolated credentials, we designed the hub as a relationship management system between customers and merchants.

This approach allowed customers to:

  • view where their cards are stored

  • update payment credentials across services

  • monitor recurring transactions

  • manage subscriptions more effectively

Merchant Relationship Model

The experience was organized around merchant relationships rather than individual transactions.
